Alaron manufacturers a large range of health products that are sold worldwide. One of the products we produce is packed into single use foil pouches for ease of use by the consumer. The individual foils come off the line at 80 foils/minute and are hand packed into retail cartons. For the staff to keep up with this activity it required several people to stand at the end of the packing line and repeatedly perform a task that requires correctly counting and packing the retail cartons at speed. This process is difficult to perform all day and carries high risk of miscounting. Alaron approached IAL for a custom robotic automation solution to count and correctly orientate the foils, presenting the packing team with bundles ready to pack into a retail carton. We are very pleased to say we are not only delighted with the finished result, but the level of professionalism they show throughout the process and their ability to handover a custom design that does exactly what it was set out to do. The production staff appreciate the improved process and think its fantastic that a robot has taken away the difficult part of their old role.
